I was so impressed with this book and the way Lew guides new and experienced Consultants and Service Professionals through story’s, anecdotes and hard facts, that I approached Lew to narrate the book and produce it in Audiobook format.

Click here to visit Consulting and Professional Services Radio.

By the time this podcast goes live the book should be available on Amazon, Audible.com and iTunes as a printed, ebook and audiobook.

On completion of the audiobook and with a collection of other material available, Lew and I decided to produce a podcast program to share information and build a community of Consultants and other Business Service Professionals. We invite you to listen, contribute and engage through CPSRadio.com and we welcome guests on the show so please, make contact and we hope we can talk to you on a future episode.

In this first episode, I talk to Lew about the book, his motivation for writing Consulting 101 and who is the primary audience. Here’s some of the questions Lew addressed:

  1. Lets start with the Book – How did you come to see a need for Consulting 101? – Was it mostly from the lack of early knowledge in your career or observations of others?
  2. Who will benefit from  information in the book? New Consultants and Professionals or Experienced Professionals?
  3. Will this apply to all situations of consulting? Engineering, Business, Accounting etc?
    1. Explore other professions – Law, Retail…
  4. What are some of the key areas where people error when starting out in consulting?
  5. What is the biggest blunder you, or someone you knew has made?
  6. The book includes quite a few ‘Case Studies’ – How did you come up with and recall the story’s and tips to use in the book?
  7. I assume the names have been changed to protect the innocent…. as well as the guilty, but how close are these anecdotes to ‘real life’?

Join us next week and Lew and I will bring you a discussion on Fears of Consulting. If you would like to participate in future programs, please contact us via the link on CPSRadio.com or call the feedback line and leave a voice message.

Phil, a recent college graduate, has grown up with the Internet and all its related technologies his whole life. Roger doesn’t understand the point of “fads” such as Facebook and Twitter accounts; Phil doesn’t understand why Roger doesn’t want to do more to advance his business into the twenty-first century. coming_soon

Roger assumes he can mentor Phil on the finer points of budgets and spreadsheets but is surprised to learn that Phil can mentor him on a few things as well.
